Tourist Attractions:
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
lies in the north of China. The region is covered with vast
patches of grasslands. Tourist to the grasslands can ride
horses, camels or donkey-drawn carts, or practicing archery,
or taking part in shooting matches. Horse race, camel race
and wrestling contests are traditional games to entertain
guests. The hospitable Mongolian herdsmen may invite foreign
friends to visit their yurt homes, and would gladly entertain
guests with Mongolian songs and dances. Attending a bonfire
party may prove to be quite an experience to urban dwellers.

Xar Moron, Hohhot
Xar Moron, 87
kilometers to the north of Hohhot and 1,700 meters above sea
level, is a summer resort where the air is fresh and redolent

Wudang Lamasery
Built in latter
half of the 17th century, Wudang Lamasery located 70 kilometers
to the south of Baotou City is the largest and best preserved
of its kind in Inner Mongolia. It comprises six temple halls,
three mansions for Living Buddhas and an altar hall.
Gengeng Tel Steppe
Meaning "Bright
Steppe" in Mongolian, Gengeng Tel lies 145 kilometers to the
north of Hohhot, in the Fourth Prince's Banner (a banner is
an administrative division corresponding to a county).
The Mausoleum of Genghis
Khan
Genghis Khan was the
great leader of Mongolians who, at the of 12th century, united
Mongolian tribes and challenged other powers to expand his
huge Mongolian empire, which extended from South China to
the Caspian Sea. The great emperor was buried secretly according
to Mongolian custom. In Genghis Khan's Mausoleum only his
clothing is buried in memory of the great leader. The 5.5
hectares mausoleum includes three giant yurt halls.
