| Luoyang, located on both banks of the middle reaches of the
Yellow River, has a splendid history of over 5,000 years being
capitals for 13 dynasties with 96 emperors and a imperial history
of 1529 years.
Longmen Grottoes
 
Longmen Grottoes stretch for a kilometer or so, 12 kilometers
south of Luoyang, one of the three great treasure houses of
grotto art in China. There are more than 2,100 grotto niches,
43 pagodas, 3,600 tablets and more than 100,000 statues, of
which the biggest stands 17.14 meters tall and the smallest
only 2 centimeters.
White Horse Temple
 
Located 12.5 km east of Luoyang, the temple was the first
Buddhist temple in China since the religion spread to the
country. The story goes that two Indian monks brought the
Buddhist scriptures to Luoyang on two white horses. It is
respectfully called " No. 1 Ancient Temple in China."
